Software that makes it all the way into service.

Harbor Media builds websites, APIs, web applications, and iOS and Android apps for other companies. We are small and senior, so you work directly with the people writing the code.

What you get

A working system, not a folder of code.

Plenty of projects end with software that runs on the developer's machine. Every build we finish ships with the parts that make it survive contact with real users, and they are included rather than quoted as extras.

It tells you what it is doing

Every system we build answers a health check and reports exactly which version is running. You never have to guess whether a change actually went out.

A bad release undoes itself

Before a release goes live, an automated test signs in as a real user and completes the main task. If that fails, the previous version comes straight back.

Backups that have been restored

Nightly backups, and a restore we have actually performed rather than assumed. An untested backup is not a backup.

The passage

How a project runs, start to finish.

Five stages. You know at every point what is happening, what it costs, and what is waiting on you.

01

We work out what you actually need

A conversation about the problem, not a feature list. Often the useful build is smaller and cheaper than the one you came in asking for.

02

You get a fixed price and a fixed scope

Written down, including what is not included. After you sign, anything outside that list is quoted separately before we touch it, so the number does not move on its own.

03

You see it working every two weeks

Real software you can click, on a real address, not slides. If something is going wrong you find out while it is still cheap to change.

04

You test it against what you signed

We hand you a checklist built from your own acceptance criteria and you work through it yourself before anything goes live.

05

It launches and you own it

Source code, credentials, infrastructure and a runbook that someone else could follow. If you ever want to take it elsewhere, you can.

Evidence

What we have shipped.

Harbor Media started by building and running its own products. That is where the process came from, and it is what we can show you.

A shared identity platform

Running in production and handling sign-in for every application we operate. Single sign-on, multi-factor, and one account across products.

Kitchenry

A recipe and grocery product in beta on TestFlight, with a native iOS app, an Android app, a web client and an API behind them.

Link'd

A dating product shipped to iOS, Android and the web, including the App Store and Play submissions and the marketing site.

Book a meeting, virtual or in person. Bring the problem rather than a specification. If we are not the right shop for it we will say so on the call, and point you somewhere better if we can.
